Why Upcycled Pieces?
Upcycled fashion involves transforming unwanted materials, garments, or accessories into new, higher-value items, promoting sustainability and creativity.
Coming from Sweden, a country renowned for its dedication for recycling and repurposing, Veronica Malm has always had a big passion for vintage and second hand shops, something which,
when growing in the 90s and early 20s up not the norm.
Although she naturally never fit into any societal box/norms, so she always wore what she desired, and followed her creative flow. She noticed that the pieces she would most of the time be complimented for were the pieces she had bought from vintage/2nd hand stores and which she her self had created.
Veronica Malm simply has a massive love for beautiful, cool, unique, high quality items, and believes that true beauty is timeless.
She always love takes her time in finding the perfect pieces which she resonates with and feels inspired by. She also always was in love with the story telling aspect of up cycling items. For example bringing a perfect cotton dress from the 50s, a new space to be reborn and resonate with someone in the future; allowing the piece to keep on living and inspirering, and giving a nod to another time in the world.
From finding the pieces in vintage shops, markets and 2nd hand stores - finding high quality pieces to recreate into something fresh, unique, and new.
Some pieces are carefully hand painted or hand drawn by Veronica Malm her self, using only the highest quality of fabric art materials.
Upcylcing is a creative reuse, giving an opportunity for creative to breathe new life and purpose into an otherwise disregarded fashion piece.
